Instructional Strategies for Students with Disabilities Print E-mail

Inclusion in Science Education
Inclusion in Mathematics Education

Among the volumes that have been produced about strategies that work within the seven teaching methods most commonly used today, they are scattered in papers, books, lecture notes, symposium results, web-sites, etc.  We have organized and summarized many (hopefully most) of these strategies into the seven most common types of disabilities used by the special education community (including some 98% of the students in special education).  There are eight types of Impairments, viz., Attention Deficit, Behavioral, Communication, Hearing, Intellectual, Learning, Motor/Orthopedic, and Visual.  There are eight types of instructional methods, viz., Overall Strategies, Teacher Presentation, Laboratory, Reading, Group Interaction/Discussion, Research, Field Experiences, and Testing.
The above website, houses some 800 strategies. Although the web title indicates that it is Science oriented, you only need to ignore those sections on "Laboratory", "Field Experiences", and "Research" and the website is just fine for  "English" or" History" or  "Political Science" etc. courses.
Nearly a quarter-million "hits" have been recorded on our three disabled related websites1 referenced on the above site.  Numerous (about700) feedback messages have been received and many answered.
