Students with disabilities from Turkey, Bulgaria, Slovenia and the Netherlands met in Ankara (Turkey) in July 2009, as experts during the Training of Disability Advisers (TIU Activity 4). The students had a range of disabilities and were studying in different departments. During the meeting, they talked about their experiences, discussed barriers they have faced and how they tried to solve them. Together they were able to share alternative ways to reach effective solutions. It is important to think about who the stakeholders are, how they are part of the process, the skills that they need and how they can develop them. On the last day of the meeting the students planned the “European University Students with Disabilities Platform”, deciding on the Vision, Mission and Aims of the group. The group was set up as http://groups.google.com/group/tiuplatform?lnk&pli=1 The board members of the EU-level platform of University disabled students are discussing organisational needs of the group are discussed online and when the student participants met in Antakya (Turkey) for the Final event of TIU (TIU7) in November 2009.
