This activity aims at - Improving communication skills and confidence of disabled students
- Developing skills and understanding of disability coordinators: training course and handbook
- Creating an open dialogue between disabled students in Turkey and at EU-level
- Raising awareness about the access to university education for disabled students
29 June - 3 July 2009: Ankara Training of Disability Support Coordinators: Two Dutch specialists will work with disability advisors and coordinators from 13 Turkish universities. They will develop effective ways to set up disability support at universities in a country with new disability legislation. The programme will look at organisation and effective of existing resources, especially the empowerment of the main actors, the disabled students themselves.
1 -3 July 2009: Disabled university students from 5 countries will meet, discuss needs and strategies, and help train future disability trainers. They will also discuss how to form a European Platform of Disabled Students.
