On July 3rd 2009, 21 students with disabilities from 5 countries met in Ankara (on the last day of TIU4 training program ) to establish the International Disabled Students' Platform, the 5th Activity of the Towards Inclusive Education project. 

 

International Disabled Students’ Platform

Vision: Inclusive Universities Wordwide, leading to Universal Design

 

Mission: All students should be able to follow the study of their choice without barriers, through equal opportunities. 

 

Aims:

  1. Connecting students with students with disability worldwide.
  2. Exchanging experiences; studying in Higher Education, successes, challenges and other topics. 
  3. Sharing tips regarding student life, to remove hindrances
  4. Empowering  students with disabilities
  5. Encouraging students with disabilities to be aware of their rights

 

This Platform is open to all students with disabilities, studying in Higher Education anywhere.  The language of communication is English to ensure maximum access. 

 

 

The Management Group for the Platform has 7 members: Zeliha Eldem, Pascha von den Breekel, Ozan Oktay, Georgi Stefanov, Deniz Aydemir, Ceyda Gungoren, and Ali Hikmet Satir.
