Criteria for selecting students for participation:
- Independent thought: the student will (be ready to try to) use initiative, can express their needs and tell others how they prefer to do things.
- Active group participation
- Empathy with others, and able to argue from the point of view of someone different
- Enough knowledge of spoken English to follow a discussion. Willingness to participate and express ideas is more important than English vocabulary and grammar knowledge.
